Thick and Creamy Açaí Smoothie Bowls

Açaí bowls are a vibrant, refreshing Brazilian dish made from frozen açaí palm fruit pulp blended into a thick, sorbet-like consistency. Layered with fresh fruit, crunchy granola, seeds, and a drizzle of nut butter or honey, it makes a nutrient-rich breakfast or invigorating snack. Creamy Açaí Smoothie Bowls

•  2 packets (200g) unsweetened frozen açaí puree (slightly thawed under warm water for 10 seconds)

•  1 cup frozen mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, or blackberries)

•  1 large frozen ripe banana (sliced)

•  ¼ to ⅓ cup unsweetened almond milk, coconut water, or oat milk (use as little as possible)

•  1 tbsp honey, maple syrup, or 1 medjool date (optional, for added sweetness)

•  ½ cup crunchy oat granola

•  1 fresh banana, sliced

•  ½ cup fresh strawberries or raspberries

•  1 tbsp chia seeds or hemp hearts

•  1 tbsp unsweetened coconut flakes

•  1–2 tbsp creamy almond butter or peanut butter for drizzling

1. Prep the Frozen Ingredients: Break the frozen açaí packets into smaller chunks before opening. Slice frozen bananas to make blending smoother.

2. Load the Blender: Add liquid (almond milk) to the high-speed blender first, followed by the frozen banana, frozen berries, and açaí packet chunks. Starting with liquid near the blades helps blending.

3. Blend Until Smooth: Blend on low speed, using the tamper tool to continuously push ingredients down toward the blades. Add liquid 1 tablespoon at a time only if necessary until a thick, soft-serve sorbet texture is reached.

4. Divide & Smooth: Scoop the thick açaí blend evenly into 2 chilled serving bowls. Smooth out the surface using the back of a spoon.

5. Arrange Toppings & Serve: Artfully arrange rows of granola, sliced bananas, fresh berries, chia seeds, and coconut flakes on top. Finish with a drizzle of almond butter or honey and serve immediately.

• Keep Liquids Minimal: The primary mistake in making açaí bowls is adding too much liquid, which turns it into a drinkable smoothie. Use just enough liquid to catch the blender blades.

• Chill the Bowls: Place your glass or ceramic serving bowls in the freezer for 10–15 minutes before assembling. This prevents the thick smoothie base from melting while you add toppings.

• Use High-Speed Blender + Tamper: A powerful high-speed blender equipped with a tamper plunger allows you to process frozen fruit with minimal liquid to achieve that iconic sorbet-like thickness.• Açaí Powder Substitute: If frozen packets are unavailable, blend 2 tbsp pure açaí berry powder with 2 cups of frozen mixed berries and 1 frozen banana.
